Bright and early start to today for us!
Seth started out on the pole in the fifth race of the morning. Seth hung on to finish third and transfer to the C Main.
In the C Main Seth is starting from 9th position, right behind the fast winner of the D Main.

Seth qualified onto the pole of the D Main, missing the C Main by one point. That meant an extra race more than the crew chief counted on and more risk of getting caught up in some one else's problems.
The "lower mains" start in reverse alphabetical order, all the "J Mains," all classes then all of the "I Mains." And, yes, a couple of classes did have J Mains.
It was a long day with this year's high attendance. We had a hard stop time since the Guinness Record people were coming for the 8 PM lap around the big track. We were FIVE RACES away from racing. We were anxious all day, and didn't get to race before getting out there on the big track for the end of the day.
The day ended on a high note as the kids got to take a lap on the big race track!
Today Seth started 8th in the third of seven heats in the Jr. Honda class - 55 cars! Points are given for winning the heat race and the number of places improved. Seth made it up to fourth, good, but not enough to qualify into the A Main for Jr Honda, so Seth will have to work on racing into the A Main.
The top four cars from each lower main "the B Main," etc. will transfer to the next main up. Meaning, no matter which Main Seth starts in he has to aim for top four every time. If he races into the A Main that would be a victory.

I was holding Lane to get closer to the racing, so I didn't capture many images during the race. However, I snapped a couple of Patrick and Seth during the red flag - a kid flipped on to his side.
While local races, like the ones near our house, count for local points, these races contribute to national rankings. Going into this race, Seth is ranked 49th nationally. So it is in Seth's best interest to go as far as he can today to advance himself in those standings.
We started out driving last night and arrived this morning. The wait to get into the speedway was long after driving all night.
As soon as we got in Patrick went to work to get Seth ready for his first practice. Seth's Practice laps were fast. In this video he is the all blue car.
Seth raced with some stiff competition tonight. Started third, finished third - hopefully learned a few things.
Lane has three days until he can climb into his own car.
